This foot-stomping musical explores and celebrates the life of musical icon Freddie Mercury, front-man of rock-band Queen. With their revolutionary sounds and unforgettable music, the British band’s rise to global domination was remarkable, culminating in a legendary concert at London’s Wembley Stadium as part of Live Aid in 1985. Mercury’s lifestyle was often outrageous, and complicated, ending in tragedy when he became one of the most high-profile victims of the AIDS crisis in the early 1990s at a time when homophobia was rife in the media. The film pays loving tribute to one of the most enduring, brave, and complex public figures of the late 20th century.

The film has been classified a 12A by the BBFC (the British Board of Film Classification) for moderate sex references, drug references, infrequent strong language. Children under the age of 12 are permitted to attend as they will be accompanied by adults responsible for their care. For further information on the guidelines, please see the BBFC ratings info.
