Paddington 2 School Screenings, with Unicef UK

We are very excited to bring you an exclusive schools’ event celebrating World Children’s Day in partnership with Unicef and Studiocanal - a special screening of the much-anticipated Paddington 2 (released in cinemas on 10 November) on 20 November with an introduction from a representative from Unicef UK!

Paddington 2 (Cert TBC) + Unicef Introduction
Mon 20 Nov, 10am or 10:30am, see list for details

The iconic bear has become a champion for children in support of Unicef, acting as an inspiration to promote children’s rights around the world. The introduction from Unicef UK will explain how the values exemplified by Paddington, of kindness, tolerance, and perseverance in the face of adversity (and marmalade-related mishaps), make him the perfect champion for children’s rights.

We hope Paddington’s story will help children in the UK learn that the right to a home, to be cared for and to an education applies to all children, and to embrace the film’s message of tolerance, love and openness to other cultures.

Tickets are just £4 per pupil, and further details about the film, Unicef, participating cinemas and how to book are below.

More About Unicef

This event is part of OutRight, a major Unicef UK campaign and a celebration of World Children’s Day, which happens every year on 20 November. By taking part in the OutRight campaign, children and young people in schools across the UK are empowered to speak out about children’s rights.

UNICEF have produced resource packs (for Primary and Secondary levels) filled with teaching activities to help your students develop their understanding of the refugee crisis and its impact, as well as explore their own perspective on how to improve the rights of unaccompanied refugee children. To participate in Unicef UK’s OutRight 2017 campaign and receive your resources, sign up here.

More About The Film

The much-anticipated sequel to the worldwide hit family film finds Paddington happily settled with the Brown family in London, where he has become a popular member of the local community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes. While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday, Paddington sees a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s shop, and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief, who appears to be a master of disguise…

With Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson joining the all-star returning cast of Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin, with Ben Whishaw as the beloved voice of Paddington and Imelda Staunton as Aunt Lucy, Paddington 2 is released in cinemas November 10th.
