13 year old Conor has trouble with bullies at school and lives with his mother, who has a life-threatening illness. One night he is visited by a monster (Neeson) who tries to help him.

This stunning film is an adaptation of Patrick Ness and Siobhan Dowd’s award-winning novel A Monster Calls.

The text appears on many Key Stage 3 reading lists and covers numerous key PSHE themes such as issues of family relationship dynamics, personal identity, bereavement, grief, bullying and isolation.

Event length: 108 mins + optional 30min in screen, post film, teacher lead discussion.
